With nearly a month of the 2026 MLB season in the books, it’s time to be aggressive with your fantasy roster. That could mean moving on from an underperformer or taking a shot on a high-upside waiver addition.
Here are a few players to target this week:
Ángel Martínez
Second base and center field eligibility make Martínez a useful fantasy asset. He’s gone from one of the league’s least productive hitters to posting an above-average xwOBA and an 89th percentile whiff rate.
The playing time is there for the switch-hitter to hold everyday value. Per FantasyPros, he’s rostered in roughly 30% of leagues. There’s not huge upside here, but his contributions in batting average and stolen bases can be valuable in the right formats.
Brad Keller
After an excellent 2025 season in relief, Keller earned a two-year deal with the Phillies. He was already being used in high-leverage situations and is now stepping into the closer role while Jhoan Duran is on the injured list.
With saves becoming increasingly volatile due to injuries and shifting roles, Keller offers a strong short-term option if he’s available in your league.
Gavin Sheets
If you have room for a situational player at first base or a corner outfield spot, Sheets is worth a look. He’s being used in a strong-side platoon, so matchup selection is key.
Sheets brings real power, with both his hard-hit rate and bat speed in the 80th percentile or better. He clubbed 19 home runs last season and has also trimmed his swing-and-miss, adding a bit more stability to his profile.
Kumar Rocker
A walk rate north of 10% remains a concern, but Rocker has posted a 3.79 xERA. Leaning into a sinker-slider approach appears to be working, with the slider emerging as a clear strength.
The underlying metrics suggest Rocker can at least settle in as a league-average starter. The free passes add some risk, but he’s worth keeping an eye on.
Edouard Julien
Julien is pulling the ball in the air more than in previous seasons, though he’s still hitting too many balls on the ground. He’s being used in a strong-side platoon, but has worked his way to an 82nd-percentile xwOBA.
Julien rarely chases and offers eligibility on the left side of the infield in most formats. It’s not the flashiest add, but that contact profile, especially at Coors Field, can provide plenty of value.
