Searching for an edge in your fantasy baseball league this week? Well, look no further.
Here are some players we'd recommend targeting on the waiver wire.
Joc Pederson
Since May 26, Pederson has a .966 OPS against righties. He's hitting homers at a steady clip again, with four in his last five games, and has climbed to a 134 OPS+ for the season.
A lot of managers will already have their utility spot sorted. If you've got an opening, Pederson is your man. He's always a bat worth riding when he gets hot, and he's in one of those purple patches right now.
Luis García Jr.
There's no guarantee García Jr. will be available in your league. He's rostered in around half of active leagues per FantasyPros, but fresh off hitting two homers on Sunday, the Nationals infielder is seventh in xwOBA over the last fortnight.
Eligibility at first and second makes García a more flexible asset than some alternatives on the waiver wire. The lefty has a 1.439 OPS over his last 12 games.
Josh Bell
Fourteenth in xwOBA since June 14, Bell's numbers are yet to catch up with his batted-ball profile. There are strong signs suggesting he's about to catch fire at the plate.
Those numbers have been trending in the right direction for a while now. Bell isn't going to be an elite producer at first base, but he could be a handy stopgap.
Jake Bennett
Look, Bennett's stuff isn't grading out that well, but there's no arguing with the results so far. He's in the 99th percentile in chase rate, the 94th percentile in groundball rate, and has a 2.63 xERA through his first six big-league starts.
A 116 location-plus has been Bennett's standout quality in the majors thus far. Hitters aren't managing to pull the ball in the air very often, and his changeup has been racking up whiffs.
Walker Buehler
Buehler had a 1.71 ERA in June. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a start since May 5. A 3.36 xERA in June is also encouraging and shows clear progress from the former Dodger.
He's got a legitimate seven-pitch mix. It helps keep hitters off balance and lets him change his approach if he doesn't have a feel for one of his offerings on a given day.
